Country Wedding

Posted by darlingdarleenadmin on
I just returned from my little adventure to the great wide open spaces. Getting out there was a pain since my flight was delayed twice–so instead of arriving Friday night, I didn’t arrive until Saturday night. But it so happens that will all the delays, I ended up having a layover in Denver and coincidentally my friend Lauren (who also had flight delays) had a layover in Denver as well, and we ended up on the same flight to Great Falls, Montana. So, it made all the hassles of travel a little sweeter. My friend Katie’s country-style wedding was held in Lewistown on her 50-acres of land. The landscape was beautiful–especially at night when you can see all the stars. Most of the wedding party camped on her property along with her goats, chickens, goose, rooster, cats and dogs. Everyone helped setup the wedding. Most of the food was prepared by her neighbors (I can still taste that yummy apple pie). All the flowers were wild and picked the day before on her property. An arch was made from the branches of an aspen tree. Hay bails were used as benches. Lanterns were scattered around the reception area along with white lights. It was a lovely wedding and I loved all the country-style details.

The bride and her Mom in her tiny cabin. The wedding dress was handmade by her grandma. The pearl necklace was worn by her other grandma when she got married. The crystal necklace use to be her great-great aunt’s. I made her earrings to complement the two necklaces. Lovely.
