When I was little, my mother would take us to the fabric store, we would pick out a pattern for a Halloween costume and she would make all our costumes. One of those fond memories. Well I decided to be ambitious and sew all the costumes for my children. Be mindful that my sewing machine does not see the light of day as often as it should. This is a huge shame really because I can remember that when I went to buy my sewing machine, I spent so long reading all about the latest makes and models on a review site that was recommended to me by a friend. I am just so busy, it can be hard to find the time to sew. I’ve had my machine for many years now and it’s probably due an upgrade. My mum has recently got the Brother CS7000i machine and it’s pretty nifty. After reading every Brother CS7000i review I can find, I’ve decided to upgrade next year. However, my Mum said I can only upgrade if I use this machine at least two more times this year which I think is fair. That being said, I am happy to say that I finished one costume last week, and will be finishing up the second in the next couple of days. The sad thing is that I started about three weeks ago – slowly but surely I got the Little Red Riding Hood done. One thing that was fun was Stella helped me with the process. She learned how to iron fabric and patterns, cut patterns out, put pins in fabric and how to thread the sewing machine. Maybe next year she will sew it herself.
