Cape Review

Posted by darlingdarleenadmin on

This is my last post of our quick 4th of July trip to the Cape. Sorry if I’m boring some of you, but I do love this beautiful place and wish I had a permanent summer home. This time we explored Nantucket, an island on the south side of Cape Cod. It’s about a 2-hour ferry ride, much farther and smaller than Martha’s Vineyard, but definitely worth it. Our mode of transportation was our bikes. The hubby carried the two older children in the burley trailer, and I carried the little one on my bike. It was perfect and so fun to see most other people biking than driving. That’s the best way to get around on these islands. We biked to Something Natural, which has the best deli sandwiches and a large meadow for the children to run around. Then over to Dionis Beach, which was perfect for sand sledding. After ate lots of fresh lobster (mouthwatering). We caught the last ferry ride back at 9 p.m., right when the fireworks began. We had the best view from the boat–it was quite a treat. Definitely some of the best I’ve seen.

Sand sledding

Looking our finest after a day of biking, beaching and sand sledding…oh, I need a shower!
